Why I Love This Recipe

I love the flavor of chocolate and mint and have developed many recipes using those two ingredients. This recipe I found for my mom to use when entertaining. It's a big hit, especially around the holidays, and this recipe makes plenty of yummy servings to share with friends and family.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
16 oz. can chocolate syrup
1/2 cup nuts
2 cups powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 to 1 tsp. peppermint extract (depending on how strong you want the flavor of mint.)
1 cup chocolate chips
6 Tbsp. butter

Directions

Mix first 8 ingredients and pour into a jellyroll pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Cool and set aside.

Combine next four ingredients plus green food color if desired and spread over bars. Let set.

Make a glaze with the chocolate chips and butter, spread over green layer. Cut into small squares.
